On Saturday, September 10, 2011 my family attended the Antler & Anglers event at the Boardman Park. My husband Wayne liked all the information booths and new equipment. Our daughter, Ellie who is 4 years old has not been exposed to too much hunting except from her uncle Rob and Suzi. She wanted to see all of the bow targets that ON TARGET had displayed because there was a wide range of animals from bears, deer and even a dinosaur. The people who were manning the booth asked if she wanted to try the bow and she agreed. I was surprised that she chose a red one over the purple one. Steve helped her by explaining what she had to do and helped her to aim to hit the targets. This was a great first experience and will take out some of the fear of using a bow. Ellie also to use a computerized program to shoot ducks in a duck blind that the Fish and Game Department had set up. There was also live local snakes and mounted birds and local wildlife. We all had a great time but Ellie had the best time using the bow.
